i recently purchased a new hp scanner, copier, fax and now I am afraid to delete the cannon mp navigator off my system because I am unsure if all my scanned files and photos will be deleted with it. they were saved in a created folder by the software.
I have spent hours trty to sort this out on Mac OS X 10.8.5 . Tried trashing, reinstalling, rebooting and heaps of other things. This is the last Canon printer I will buy. The support around this is very dissappointing. I am being diplomatic.
I am using MP Navigator EX (Version 5.0.3 (5.0.3)) on my Mac and have had no problem with it. If you have a cleaner like Clean My Mac 3, you should uninstall the Navigator software first. I would then go to the Cannon site and install the latest drivers-they should include the Navigator updates too. If the printer communicates with the Mac then direct wire or wifi has been set up-that's OK. I would then reinstall the Navigator program then use the Canon site for updates. A lot of the problems stem from and unclean deletion of files. This should relieve your frustrations and I know that one. I have lived with Windows for years and finally saw the light with Apple. So uninstall with a cleaner (or use the CD that came with the Cannon printer) Reinstall the app again and use the web site for updates based on the printer type and the Mac OS. If I can do it so can you. This will update all printer/navigator files and you should be fine. The Canon printer has always been reliable for me- I have a Pixma MG5300 Series Canon and it works like a hot damn. I question the cost of ink but that's life.
Everything has been going well until today when the MP Navigator EX became incompatible with Canon mp280 and despite several re-installings as per CD, they were all to now avail. Have downloaded what is supposed to be "updates" but they "fail" every time too. Does anyone have any idea what can be done or is it a new printer but definitely not a Canon this time?
I would look for a new printer/scanner. The updated MP Navigator is not the only problem. Going forward, the scan software will not work with Windows 8 or 8.1 (64-bit). It worked fine in Win 7 64 (compatibility mode), but the Twain driver is only 32-bit and it's showing its age.
I have Canon Pixma MP160 and installed all software from CD. But MP Navigator 3.0 shortcut on the desktop always shows "The scanner driver supported by this software is not installed". How to install the scanner driver software compatible with Windows 7? Please help immediately to solve this problem.

If you still have the software cd supplied with the printer, reinstall all the drivers. Uninstall what you have now and do the installation again. This should fix your problem.
I have a problem with Canon Lide 100 Scanner. I installed MP Navigator as well as Canon Lide 100 driver also, but every time I try to open it, I get a message saying: "The scanner driver supported by this software is not installed. Please install and try again". How do I do that?
Sir, I have Canon PIXMA MP520. After the upgrade of Maverick OSX 10.9.2, the printer works fine but the Scanner screen opens for seconds and then quits with a 10 page report on problems.

This is a possible answer for Mike. I had the exact problem, but solved it this morning: go to the Canon Europe Web-Site canon-Europe.com (I think that's the site, or very similar if it is not, maybe just a different extension). Download the Canon lide 210 driver, the MP-Navigator software for Windows 8 / 7 / XP and the Solutions Menu EX software for Windows 8 / 7 / XP
There are a lot of drivers and software on this site so be careful to download the correct ones. Uninstall all of your existing Canon Lide 210 Drivers & Software and install these 3, it should work.
The drivers and software that I download from the Canon USA site and the Canon Canada site, did not work, just as you describe.
